Beyond the traditional functions, PDFs offer a wide array of capabilities that are less known to the average user. From the office to the classroom to your day-to-day tasks, PDFs can be used for practically everything. We gathered our team together and wrangled 10 of our favorite PDF tricks to make sure you’re getting the most out of them.
1. Convert a PDF to view on your Kindle
Kindle users – bet you didn’t know that Amazon will convert a PDF file to a format available for viewing on your Kindle. If your generation Kindle doesn’t automatically convert files to PDFs, all you have to do is send an email to your Kindle email address with the document attached and include the word “convert” in the subject line. It may not be as accurate as Nitro’s convert feature, but it’ll do in a pinch!
2. Turn your Whiteboard Notes into a PDF
If you don’t have the time or energy to copy down all of the whiteboard notes, take a photo of the whiteboard on your phone, then upload the image to your Nitro Cloud account (sign up for free here). Now that your image lives in Nitro Cloud, you can access it from any browser on any device-or, you can choose to download it as a PDF. So many people don’t realise that this is something that they can do. It’s not just notes on a whiteboard that you can turn into a PDF either, you can also scan books, or other documents and turn them into a PDF as well, using something like this overhead document scanner. It certainly makes people’s lives a lot easier when they don’t have to copy things down themselves and instead can just scan them.
