Nitro Sign for Salesforce

Follow these instructions to quickly and easily set up the Nitro Sign for Salesforce app in your Salesforce org.

Note that you will need an existing Nitro Sign Teams or Enterprise account to use the Nitro Sign for Salesforce app. If you don't have an account yet, you can contact our Sales team. To invite your users to your Nitro Sign account, see the Inviting Users article in our User Guide.

Supported Salesforce Editions

  • The Nitro Sign for Salesforce app is fully compatible with both Lightning and Classic. 
  • Supported Salesforce editions include Essentials, Professional, Enterprise and Unlimited. 

Installation

  • Search for Nitro Sign in the Salesforce AppExchange  
  • Click 'Get It Now' on the Nitro Sign for Salesforce app listing 
  • Select which users should have access to the app. We recommend you proceed with the default 'Admins Only' option - you can grant access to other users via the Nitro Sign for Salesforce permission sets. 
  • Approve Third-Party access  

You will receive a Salesforce email notification once the app is fully installed. Once your installation is complete, you can configure the app.

Configuration

 

Below are the steps to configure your Nitro Sign for Salesforce app.

Assign Nitro Sign Permission Sets

Grant either Nitro Sign Admin or Nitro Sign Standard permission sets to all users.

  • The Nitro Sign Admin permission set provides access to the Nitro Sign connected apps, and edit permissions for the Nitro Sign Signature Request custom object 
  • The Nitro Sign Standard permission set provides access to the Nitro Sign connected apps, and read-only permissions for the Nitro Sign Signature Request custom object 
  1. Navigate to Setup > Users > Permission Sets > Nitro Sign Admin permission set (or use the quick link from the Nitro Sign Admin tab) 
  2. Click Manage Assignments 
  3. Click Add Assignments 
  4. Highlight all the users that should have Nitro Sign Admin permissions and then click Assign 
  5. Repeat for the Nitro Sign Standard permission set  

Update OAuth Policies for Connected Apps

Set the OAuth access policy for the ‘Nitro Sign’ and ‘Nitro Sign Admin’ connected apps.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Connected Apps > Manage Connected Apps 
  2. Select the ‘Nitro Sign’ connected app 
  3. Select Edit Policies 
  4. Important: In the Permitted Users field, select ‘Admin approved users are pre-authorized’ 
  5. Save

Add the Nitro Sign button to supported objects

The Nitro Sign for Salesforce app currently works with the Accounts, Contacts, Leads and Opportunities standard objects. You can add the Nitro Sign button to any or all of these objects so your users can initiate signature requests from these records.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Object Manager > Account (or use the quick link from the Nitro Sign Admin tab) 
  2. Go to Page Layouts and select the specific layout where you would like to add the Nitro Sign button 
  3. To add the Lightning button, go to Mobile & Lightning Actions and drag the Nitro Sign action down to position it in the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section of the layout 
  4. To add the Classic button, go to Buttons and drag the Nitro Sign button down to position it in the Custom Buttons section of the layout 
  5. Click Save 
  6. Repeat the steps above for Contacts, Leads and Opportunities to add the Nitro Sign button to those objects 

Add the Nitro Sign Signature Request related list to supported objects (coming soon)

The Nitro Sign Signature Request related list provides a view of signature requests that have been sent from a given Account, Contact, Lead or Opportunity record, and their current status. Users can see at a glance what the status of a pending signature request is.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Object Manager > Account (or use the quick link from the Nitro Sign Admin tab) 
  2. Go to Page Layouts and select the specific layout where you would like to add the Nitro Sign Signature Requests related list 
  3. To add the Nitro Sign Signature Request related list, go to Related Lists and drag the Nitro Sign Signature Requests list down to position it in the Related Lists section of the layout 
  4. Click Save 
  5. Repeat the steps above for Contacts, Leads and Opportunities to add the Nitro Sign Signature Requests related list to those objects 

The Nitro Sign for Salesforce app is now ready for users to start requesting signatures! Please refer to the Nitro Sign for Salesforce User Guide for steps on how to request signatures from Salesforce using Nitro Sign.

Nitro Sign Admin tab

The Nitro Sign Admin tab provides some useful links to help you administer your Nitro Sign for Salesforce app.

Account

Provides you with information on your Nitro Sign account. Log in to Nitro Sign here to see who is your Nitro Sign account’s administrator. If you are an administrator of your company’s Nitro Sign account, you will be able to access the Nitro Sign Admin portal from here, where you can manage your Nitro Sign users.

Manage User Access

Includes quick links to the Nitro Sign Admin and Nitro Sign User permission sets, so that you can quickly grant Nitro Sign for Salesforce access to your users (configuration step 1 above)

Supported Objects

Includes quick links to the Page Layouts section within Object Manager for each of the standard objects the Nitro Sign for Salesforce app supports, so that you can quickly add Nitro Sign buttons and related lists for your users (configuration steps 3 and 4 above)
