Nitro’s AI capabilities include:

  • Generative AI Tools: Nitro Assistant helps you summarize, query, and work with your documents. Form Field Detection automatically identifies where fields belong.

  • Smart Redact: identifies and permanently removes sensitive information.

  • Nitro MCP: connects Nitro to the AI assistants your teams already use.

    All AI tools undergo internal review and assessment before integration into our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring quality, security, and compliance. We continuously monitor feedback to promptly address issues and improve tool performance and reliability.

You’re in control of AI at Nitro

Every AI capability Nitro builds can be managed in real time through the Nitro Admin Portal. Your organization can boost productivity without compromising security. Administrators have separate controls for each type of AI tool, so you decide exactly what your teams can use:

  • Smart Tools: AI-powered form creation, form data extraction, and table data extraction.

  • Generative AI Tools: tools powered by generative AI, including Nitro Assistant and automated form field detection.

  • Knowledge Assistant: our AI chat tool that answers questions about Nitro products.

Changes take effect immediately, so you can adjust access as your policies evolve. 

Data privacy and security at Nitro

Smart Tools

Nitro’s Smart Tools use like Form Create, Form Extract and Table Extract use AI to automate common document tasks. 

Data privacy highlights:

  • Your data is not used for training: documents processed by these tools are not used to train AI models.

  • Task-only processing: documents are processed only to complete the requested task and are not retained afterward.

Secure processing: data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with controlled access.

Nitro Assistant

Nitro Assistant uses Azure OpenAI LLMs and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to provide responses relevant to your requests. Prompt engineering is used to improve accuracy.

Data privacy highlights:

  • Your data is not shared: questions and responses are only accessible to you.

  • Your data is not used for training generative AI: your inputs are never used to train OpenAI LLMs or other generative AI models.

  • Processing: data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with controlled access.

Documents are processed temporarily for the requested task and deleted once the task is complete.

Knowledge Assistant

Knowledge Assistant uses Azure OpenAI LLMs and RAG to provide instant product support and learning without accessing your documents or personal information. 

Data privacy highlights:

  • Your data is not used for training generative AI: inputs are not used to train AI models.
  • Secure processing: encryption protects your data during transmission and storage, with controlled access.

Smart Redact

Smart Redact uses AI to identify over 30+ types of PII, so it can be permanently removed. 

Data privacy highlights:

  • Your data is not used for training: documents processed by Smart Redact are not used to train AI models.

  • Human review: Smart Redact suggests redactions for you to review and confirm before they are applied.

  • Permanent removal: applied redactions remove the underlying content, not just its visual appearance.

  • Secure processing: data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with controlled access.

Nitro MCP

Nitro MCP uses the Model Context Protocol, an open standard, to let AI assistants such as Claude securely connect to Nitro.

Data privacy highlights:

  • You control the connection: Nitro MCP uses OAuth, so an AI assistant can only connect to Nitro after you sign in and grant access, and you can revoke that access at any time.

  • Your documents stay in Nitro: files aren’t handed over to the AI assistant. The assistant asks Nitro to perform the operation, and Nitro returns the result.

  • Third-party processing: requests made through an external AI assistant are also processed by that assistant’s provider, under its own terms and privacy policies.

  • Secure connection: data exchanged between Nitro and connected assistants is encrypted in transit.

They use AI to recognize document structure, such as form fields and tables, so you can create fillable forms and extract data in seconds. Documents are processed only to complete your task, and you review results before using them.

How does Smart Redact identify sensitive information?

Smart Redact uses AI to detect sensitive information and suggest redactions. Nothing is redacted until you review and apply the suggestions. Applied redactions permanently remove the underlying content.

Who can access Nitro AI tools, and can administrators control them?

You have complete control over which AI tools your users can access. These controls are available in the Nitro Admin Portal.
