How to Edit a PDF Without Opening Word: Video Tutorial
Nitro lets you edit PDF text directly. Fix typos, reformat content, add new text, move blocks, or delete — without converting to Word or tracking down the original file.
How to Edit a PDF Without Opening Word: Step by Step
No source files. No app-switching. Just open your PDF in Nitro and make your changes directly.
Step 1: Edit existing text
Click the Edit button in the Nitro toolbar. Double-click any text on the page — you'll see a bounding box appear around it, which confirms you're in editing mode. Click exactly where you want to make your change and start typing. Nitro reflows the surrounding text automatically as you go.
To format your changes, highlight the text you've edited to bring up the formatting toolbar. From there you can adjust the font, size, or color. Press Escape when you're done.
Step 2: Add new text anywhere in the document
Need to add something that isn't already there? Click Type Text in the toolbar. Then click anywhere on the page and start typing. This works on any PDF — including scanned forms and documents you didn't create yourself.
Use the Format tab to match the style and font of your new text to the rest of the document. Press Escape when you're finished.
Step 3: Move or delete text blocks
To move a block of text: click it once with the Edit tool to select the block, then drag it to where you want it on the page.
To delete a text block: click once to select it, then press the Delete key. Alternatively, right-click the selected block and choose Delete from the context menu.
That's it. No digging up source files, no converting formats, no jumping between apps. Open your PDF in Nitro and get it done.
