Sportradar is a world-leading sports technology company, operating at the intersection of the sports, media, and betting industries.

As a digital, cloud-first company, the business relies on PDF-editing software and other productivity-boosting tools that enable users to collaborate across the globe. The challenge is  that supplier costs are increasing year by year–sometimes dramatically.

“The higher prices go, the more you start to question your choice of solution,” explains Daniel Ziegelwanger, Director of Strategic Sourcing at Sportradar. “Much of our PDF editing usage is sporadic. Do we really need to pay for a premium product if people are only accessing it once a month?”

Following an in-depth review of usage–and with a contract renewal fast approaching–the team opted to search for an alternative provider that could meet their user requirements at a more reasonable price.

Finally, there is the clarity of the product. We had lots of compatibility issues with our previous provider, but with Nitro, it’s one platform with one install for Windows and Mac–so much simpler.”

Dom has also been impressed with the level of support offered by the Nitro team, who went above and beyond to meet Sportradar's requirements for testing. According to Dom: “We had some very demanding asks.”

Nitro’s support has been critical because, as Dom says, PDF editing can be a surprisingly emotive issue. “We had pushback from some users when we first announced a potential switch. But Nitro’s customer success team provided lots of useful demos and one-to-one support, which helped ensure a seamless transition. Since implementation, all the initial resistance has disappeared. Now everyone is happy.”
