Nitro Automate Now in General Availability: Document Automation for Every User and Workflow

Transform manual document processes into automated workflows, wherever work happens. Deliver high-performance data extraction, PDF operations, and eSign capabilities to any system, workflow, or AI agent—built on the document engine delivering the enterprise-grade performance and security trusted by 67% of the Fortune 500.

SAN FRANCISCO [September 29, 2026] - Nitro today announced the general availability of Nitro Automate, an intelligent document automation solution that embeds Nitro’s enterprise-grade document processing capabilities directly into the AI agents, automation platforms, and custom applications organizations already use.

Document processing is still one of the most manual parts of enterprise operations. Contracts, invoices, clinical records, and legal filings move between systems with human intervention at every step, creating bottlenecks that slow everything else down. AI agents can reason about documents, but they still need reliable infrastructure to act on them.

Nitro Automate solves this by embedding Nitro's document processing capabilities into any agent or system, including CRM, ERP, HR, AI platforms, and custom-built applications. Organizations can add a document automation layer that handles end-to-end workflows across document types, formats, and volumes.

PDFs are where a lot of enterprise automation breaks, a human often needs to step in to convert a file, extract data, archive a file or send a document for signing. Nitro Automate makes those operations callable from orchestration engines, business systems, and AI agents through MCP, so an agent can finally execute large scale document tasks instead of just describing the workflow."

Flexible deployment paths to document automation

Built for developers and non-technical users alike, Nitro Automate can programmatically process thousands of documents in seconds. Teams can deploy capabilities from converting and merging files to extracting data and tracking eSignatures across flexible paths:

  • AI agents using MCP: Connect to AI systems and agents through Nitro's Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling agents to execute document operations reliably and accurately. The Nitro MCP connector for Claude is available now, with broader marketplace availability to follow.

  • Automation platforms: Pre-built connectors for Microsoft Power Automate and Zapier let teams integrate Nitro's document capabilities into existing business processes.

  • Custom code: Embed Nitro API calls directly into custom applications using any programming language that supports HTTP requests.

  • Nitro PDF Pro (coming soon): Individual users will soon be able to build automations using a drag-and-drop visual canvas inside Nitro PDF Pro with no coding required.

What Nitro Automate delivers

Instead of stitching together point solutions, Nitro Automate brings complete PDF processing, data extraction, redaction, and eSignature into a single platform. It provides programmatic access to the document operations that Nitro customers rely on every day, including converting files between formats, merging and splitting documents, extracting structured data from tables and forms, redacting sensitive information, preparing documents for eSignature, and tracking signing requests through to completion. The same operations are available across all three adoption paths, so a workflow built in Power Automate or Zapier today can move to a direct API integration later without rebuilding the underlying logic. AI-powered capabilities, including automatic form field and table extraction, PII detection, and signature field identification, are built directly into the API.

The product is designed with developer experience as a priority. Public documentation, consistent authentication, standard error handling, and code samples in common languages are available through the Nitro developer portal. Use cases include invoice and contract processing in financial services, claims handling and underwriting in insurance, discovery and filing preparation in legal, clinical documentation in healthcare, and permit and benefits processing across government agencies.

Built for high-volume workflows

Real-world applications across key industries include:

  • Insurance (via API): Claims systems automatically bundle and password-protect 1,000+ incoming claims as they arrive, eliminating manual file-by-file processing.
  • Legal and financial services (via Power Automate/Zapier): Teams trigger a full multi-party signing envelope across an entire batch of contracts directly from their existing workflow.
  • AI workflows (via MCP): An agent uses Nitro MCP mid-task to redact a file and apply OCR while building out a Freedom of Information (FOI) request response.
  • Operations teams (via Nitro PDF Pro): Non-technical teams will soon build simple invoice-routing or contract-approval automations directly in Nitro PDF Pro, eliminating dependence on developer backlogs.

Enterprise-grade security and compliance

Underlying these workflows is infrastructure designed for regulated environments. Nitro Automate runs on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure certified to SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and HIPAA compliance requirements. Built for privacy and control, customer data is processed only for the specific operation requested and is never used to train AI models. Access management and usage controls are administered through the Nitro Admin Portal alongside all other Nitro products. From financial services to government to logistics, Nitro Automate powers document-heavy processes securely, wherever they occur.
