Create a Radio Button Field in a PDF

Use radio buttons for mutually exclusive options

A radio button group lets users select only one option. Radio buttons share properties with check box fields.

Users cannot clear a radio button by clicking it again. To clear a selection, users must do one of the following:

  • Select another radio button in the group.
  • Reset the form.

 

Add a radio button field

    1. Open the PDF in Nitro PDF Pro
    2. On the Forms tab, in the Form Fields group, click Radio ButtonForms Field
    3. Drag the pointer on the page to create the field
    4. Open the field properties:
      1. Double-click the field
      2. Or right-click the field and select Properties
    5. Set the field name and appearance. Use one of these options:
      1. The Properties context tabRadio Button properties tab
      2. The Properties dialog

    6. Open the Options tab:
      1. From the context tab, click Properties > Options
      2. From the dialog, click Options
    7. Configure the radio button:
      1. Radio Button Style: Select the appearance
      2. Export Value: Enter a value

Important:

    • Use the same field name for all radio buttons in a group
    • Use a different Export Value for each option

Edit a radio button field

    1. Open the PDF in Nitro PDF Pro
    2. On the Forms tab, in the Form Fields group, do one of the following:
      1. Click the field type
      2. Click Select Fields
    3. Double-click the field to edit its properties
