Use the System Tray App (STA)

The Nitro System Tray Application (STA) provides quick access to Nitro PDF Pro features, recent documents, notifications, and helpful resources. The STA is located in the bottom-right of the Windows taskbar and can be accessed by clicking the small Nitro icon.

 

Access Recent Documents 

1. Click the Nitro icon in the bottom-right of the Windows taskbar
2. Click the My Recent Documents tab in the STA
3. Select the document you want to open; it will launch in Nitro PDF Pro

View Notifications 

1. Click the Nitro icon in the taskbar
2. Select the Notifications tab
3. Click a notification for more details

Use the Discover Tab 

The Discover tab guides users through key Nitro PDF Pro workflows 

1. Click the Nitro icon in the taskbar 
2. Select the Discover tab 
3. Choose a workflow from the available options: 
   • Edit text and images 
   • eSign 
   • Create and organize 
   • Convert and combine 
   • Review and markup 
4. The corresponding guide opens in Nitro Pro for step-by-step instructions 

Access Nitro Cloud, User Guides, or Environmental Impact Score 

1. Click the Nitro icon in the taskbar. 
2. In the top-right corner of the STA, select: 

• Leaf icon – View your Environmental Impact Score 

• Cloud icon – Open Nitro Cloud in your browser 

• Book icon – Open the Nitro User Guide in your browser 

Environmental Impact Score 

The Environmental Impact Score highlights the environmental benefits of using Nitro Pro features. Scores are based on actions that reduce paper waste, printing, and manual signing. Features that contribute to the score include: 

• QuickSign 

• Digital signatures 

• Annotations 

• Form filling 

• Highlighting 

 

Disable or Re-enable the STA 

Disable STA 

1. Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE 
2. Select Task Manager 
3. In Task Manager, click the Startup tab 
4. Locate Nitro Pro SysTray 
5. Click Disable 
6. Restart your computer 

Re-enable STA 

1. Repeat steps 1–3 above 
2. Locate Nitro Pro SysTray 
3. Click Enable 
4. Restart your computer
