Create and Edit a Digital Signature Field in a PDF

A digital signature field lets a user sign or certify a document with a digital ID.

When a user clicks the field, the system opens a dialog. The user can then apply a digital signature.

Add a digital signature field

    1. Open the PDF in Nitro PDF Pro
    2. On the Forms tab, in the Form Fields group, click Digital SignatureReset-1
    3. Drag the pointer on the page to create the field
    4. Open the field properties:
      1. Double-click the field Properties Digital Signature
      2. Or right-click the field and select Properties

    5. Set the field name and properties. Use one of these options:
      1. The Properties context tabProperties Digital Signature
      2. The Signature Properties dialog

    6. Configure additional settings as required, such as appearance and actions

Edit a digital signature field

    1. Open the PDF in Nitro PDF Pro
    2. On the Forms tab, in the Form Fields group, do one of the following:
      1. Click the field type
      2. Click Select FieldsFormat Ribbon
    3. Select the signature field
    4. Edit the field properties:
      1. Use the Properties context tabProperties Digital Signature
      2. Or right-click the field and select Properties
