The Role:
The Deal Desk Manager leads the Revenue Operations deal desk function for our software business, managing a team of specialists and serving as a trusted advisor to sales leadership. This role is critical in supporting our go-to-market strategy by enabling the sales team to close SaaS and enterprise software deals efficiently while ensuring compliance with company policies, protecting profit margins, and enhancing the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Deal Structuring & Approval
- Partner with account executives to structure software deals that align with company policies, pricing frameworks, and revenue recognition requirements.
- Own the approval workflow, ensuring timely resolution of deal escalations and approvals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Legal and Customer Success teams to ensure smooth execution of deals throughout the sales cycle.
- Act as the central point of contact for deal-related questions, including software licensing and provisioning, subscription terms, renewals, and multi-year agreements.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate deal desk processes, leveraging SFDC, CPQ, and our SFDC admin team.
- Maintain clear documentation of deal desk policies, workflows, and best practices to support scale.
Sales Support & Strategy
- Provide guidance on quote creation, order forms, subscription amendments, and renewals.
- Act as the steward of knowledge related to software deal configuration, approvals, and compliance requirements.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure deals adhere to pricing policies, legal standards, data protection and subscription terms.
- Protect the company’s profitability by minimizing commercial and contractual risks.
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop Deal Desk Specialists, fostering accountability, accuracy, and responsiveness.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and career development opportunities to strengthen team performance.
