Import and Export Form Data

Nitro PDF for Windows

You can export form data from a PDF as an FDF file (Form Data Format).

An FDF file is smaller than a PDF file. Use it to share form data by email or to store data locally.

You can also import FDF data into a PDF form.

Export form data

    1. Open the PDF in Nitro PDF Pro
    2. On the Forms tab, in the Form Data group, click Export
    3. Enter a file name
    4. Click Save

Import form data

    1. Open the PDF in Nitro PDF Pro
    2. On the Forms tab, in the Form Data group, click Import
    3. Select the FDF file
    4. Click Open

Requirements for importing data

    • The PDF form must contain fields with the same names as the exported file
    • Field names are case-sensitive
    • Nitro Pro ignores fields that do not match
