Convert a PDF to Excel File

Note : PDF to Excel conversion cannot preserve the exact layout and formatting. Nitro Pro generates a reusable Excel file that retains the visual appearance and structure of the original PDF document. 


  1. Navigate to the Convert tab  
  2. Click the To Excel button  
  3. The Convert PDF to Excel window opens  
  4. Click the Add Files button to add your files  
  5. Click Remove to remove selected files  
  6. Click Move Up or Move Down to change the file order  
  7. To select specific pages, click Choose Pages  
  8. To include all open PDF documents, select the checkbox  
  9. In the Conversion settings section, select the desired format:   
    • Single Excel sheet 
    •  Multiple Excel sheets 
    • Create a sheet per page  
  10. In the Output section, select where to save the files:   
    • Folder of original file   
    • Specific folder   
    • Ask during the process   
  11. Click Convert to start the process, or click Cancel to stop it  

Excel Settings  

  1. Go to Settings on the Home page  
  2. Alternatively, in the conversion window, click Options  
  3. Go to Conversion  
  4. Select Excel

  • Select the output table format  
  • Select the output file format
