Nitro PDF Pro Remains in Expired Trial or Reader Mode After You Log In
If Nitro PDF Pro remains in Expired Trial mode or Reader mode after you log in, the issue can result from an incorrect installer or a missing license assignment.
Nitro PDF Pro remains in Expired Trial mode
If Nitro PDF Pro remains in Expired Trial mode after you log in, you likely installed the incorrect version of Nitro PDF Pro.
Resolve the Expired Trial issue
- Open the Windows Apps & Features utility
- In the list of installed applications, select Nitro PDF Pro
- Select Uninstall
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstall process
- Download and install the Nitro PDF Pro installer for login-based activation:

- When the login prompt appears, enter your Nitro account credentials
Notes:- You can also open the login prompt by selecting Log In in the top-right corner of Nitro PDF Pro.
- If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO), Nitro PDF Pro redirects you to your organization's SSO login process.
- After you log in successfully, Nitro PDF Pro enables all licensed features.
Nitro PDF Pro remains in Reader mode
If Nitro PDF Pro remains in Reader mode after you log in, the Nitro account does not have an assigned Nitro license.
Resolve the Reader mode issue
If you are a Nitro Account Owner or Global Administrator:
- Open the Nitro Admin portal:
- Nitro Admin Portal
- Verify that the Nitro account has an active license assignment
If your organization manages Nitro licenses, contact your Nitro administrator to verify the license assignment. - Open Nitro PDF Pro
- Select Log In in the top-right corner
- Enter your Nitro account credentials
If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO), Nitro PDF Pro redirects you to the organization's SSO login process.
After you log in successfully, Nitro PDF Pro enables all licensed features
