Enable Nitro PDF Pro Office Add-ins That Are Continuously Disabled

Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint) may automatically disable the Nitro PDF Pro Office Add-in if it impacts application startup performance. This can occur even after the add-in is manually enabled in the COM Add-ins settings.

The same process applies to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint by adjusting the application-specific registry path.

Note: Modifying the Windows Registry should only be performed by qualified IT administrators. Incorrect changes can affect system stability.

1. Open the Microsoft Office application

2. Select File > Options

3. Select Add-ins

4. In the Manage section, identify the add-in type and select it from the dropdown

5. Select Go

6. In the list of add-ins, locate Nitro PDF Pro Office Add-in

7. Select or clear the checkbox to enable or disable the add-in

8. Select OK

9. Close and reopen the Office application

10. Confirm whether the Nitro PDF Pro add-in loads successfully

If the add-in is still disabled:

1. Close all Microsoft Office applications

2. Open Registry Editor (regedit) as an administrator

3. Navigate to the following path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\NitroPDFPr
ofessional.MSOfficeAddin (v26)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\NitroPDFProfessional.MSOfficeAddin14 (v14)

4. Locate LoadBehavior

5. Set the value to 3

6. Confirm the change

Replace Outlook in the path with Word, Excel, or PowerPoint depending on the affected application.

7. In Registry Editor, navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\NitroPDFProfessional.MSOfficeAddin14

8. Locate LoadBehavior

9. Set the value to 3

10. Confirm the change
