We’ve been asking around, and it seems like there’s a healthy amount of people out there who aren’t able to articulate the differences between a PDF file and other types of digital documents—for example, a Microsoft Word or Excel file. PDF documents are truly accessible. This is a multi-faceted statement. It speaks to how easy even the most image-heavy PDF documents can be shared, as well as the use of PDF tagging to optimize files for screen readers, which ultimately enable the visually impaired to process digital information.
