About UX at Nitro:

User Experience sits within the Nitro Product team, taking a human-centric approach to developing the products and services at the heart of our business today, and helping us realize our mission to empower users to work on what matters. We have an incredibly talented and diverse team that cares, with a strong culture that believes in building the right things and building them the right way.

The Role:

As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will help shape the next generation of Nitro products. The Senior UX Designer will report to the UX Director and work closely with Product and Engineering, helping guide best practices and set the standard for quality. If you’re motivated, insatiably curious, and passionate about designing simple solutions to complex problems, then we would love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate across time zones with product managers, researchers, engineers, and marketers to deliver cohesive solutions that consider both the user and business needs.
  • Partner with your product manager throughout the planning and delivery process, defining what research and data are critical to shape design problems and advocating for a user-centred approach with evidence-based insights
  • Work with your team to gather, distill, and share customer insights.
  • Create clarity and build stakeholder confidence at all levels of the business through presentations, workshops, service maps and other documentation.
  • Foster a culture of excellence within the UX team, leveraging collective strengths to iterate on and improve customer experiences.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven, deep knowledge of design. This could be across product design, visual design, user research, service design, workshop facilitation and beyond. For this role, specific experience in native Mac and Windows applications is a bonus.
  • Experience working with design systems and building products using component-based design.
  • Experience and interest in building technically complex products.
  • Comfortable working across a range of platforms (Windows, Mac, Web) with an understanding of each platform's restrictions.
  • A self-starter interested in growing as an individual and as a team.
  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrable comfort in both qualitative and quantitative forms of research.
  • Strong organization and time management in meeting deadlines for smaller and larger scale tasks.
